In 2015 the Illinois legislature ordered its state pension funds to divest from companies that boycott Israel or Israeli settlements, or use other economic pressure to end the occupation. State pension funds were required to sell shares in such firms. These would include socially-responsible companies such as Ben & Jerry's which manufactures and sells ice cream in Israel but refuses to use raw materials produced in Israeli settlements. |
