Joint Israeli-Palestinian enterprises are already at work, taking advantage of the educational standards in Palestine which are ahead of those in neighbouring Muslim countries.
At present these are handicapped by official Palestinian reluctance to be seen as collaborators with Israel, and by misgivings over the emergence of a complicit Palestinian middle class. But it is clear that an independent Palestine will experience rapid growth in advanced technologies, including applications of solar energy.
